The truck had been stored at Greg Thies farm in Western Illinois since the 1000. He had started to tear it down, but it was limited to the motor, transfer case, shocks and axles. The truck had not been cleaned and that was the first priority before the prep started in earnest. The steam cleaner was so effective, it started to take quite a bit of paint off the bars in the engine area. The red on the frame is primer.
I'll put up more pictures as we go. We have a new rear-end going into the truck, as the old one is ten years old and finally started to give way at the last race. The real critical element will be getting the new transfer case spacer built. We are dependent on a shop making a special output shaft in time.

Finally, I'm excited about working on the truck. When it was in California, I couldn't do much, but now it's only forty minutes away.

You've come a long way Chris, I'm glad to see the truck's going back together.

This photos is from the 2004 Primm race and shows Chris driving into the main pit after one lap to refuel.
