I was told by Blanco that I should start a intro thread. So here it goes.

I live in Bullhead City Az and have for most of my life. I use to race Hare and Hound races when I was in college. I got started racing because I worked for a motor cycle dealer building bikes and my father use to race them. I quit racing after my first year because of a crash that caused two breaks in my pelvis, two broken femurs, a dislocated hip, and blood transfusion.

I now just hang at the local water ways, scuba dive for lost treasure (sunglasses, wallets, etc.), and hang with my wife and 2 month old son. I do like to build things on my off time... I have built and like to mess around with remote planes and boats, My boat (yes I restored one..lol).

I also help my brother with his newest hobby. Flattbottom circle boat racing. 500cu chevy on alchohol. Should be a nice machine when its finished.

As of now I drive a 03' chevy crew cab 4x4 truck. I would like to get back into racing but could not find anything in my price range and excitement level. When I attended last years laughlin race I saw a couple of guys with class 3 trucks and thought this is some thing I would like to do. I am hoping to start a build some time this year and am looking forward to pick all of your brains for information towards this goal.

Well hope this helps a little.....

I am new to the site, but not new to offroad racing scene. Grew up going to Mexico with my Dad (1st place Class 30, Baja 500 1979). Anyway that was the last race I attended until the 2007 Baja 500 (spectator) not for long hopefully. Needless to say, I've got the itch bad.

My brother and I want to buy a race car and dive into it! We hope to be racing the 2008 season. We are are considering Stock Full, but after watching the Moss Bros. Bronco, Class 3 has caught my attention. I am a Ford guy and dig the old broncos, after all grew up idolizing P. Jones and Big Oly!

I like the TT's but miss the good ol' days of Class 8 "Heavy Metal" with Walker and the boys. Love the factory look trucks, Especially mixing it up at Riverside Raceway. Would be great to see that type of race venue come back to Score.

Plan to take a trip down for the 500 again this year to watch and do more homework. Would love to get hooked up with anyone looking for extra support, we will be camping somewhere along the course and have 2 full size very capable Ford Superduties.

By the way, I am 41, Marrried and live in Corona, Ca. Into Harley's and 4 Wheeling.

Welcome aboard, but you should move this thread to your own intro - start a new one.

Regarding stock full... I will tell you I build my bronco to race stock full SUV when the Ford money was huge, so I speak from experience.

You will spend the same, if not more, due to the restrictions of the class. You will have a very hard time getting useable travel out of anything, you will go slower, break more stuff, and downright not have much fun. I can't rell you how many times I wondered WHAT I was doing. We averaged 15 mph, and were fairly competitive (BITD). NOW, we can have shocks through the bed, coil-overs in the front (sorry Raffo), and average 35 (Score is faster than BITD admittedly). The truck is FUN to drive.

stick with class 3, it's old school, factory looks, that haul butt given our wheel-base. If you have itch now, buy your way into a co-driver seat and see how you feel then!!!

Thanks Ken,

I am in agreement with you. I couldn't imaging racing something close to stock long distance. Thanks for the advice. Short wheelbase 4-wheel drive seems like the best for the money.

Welcome, glad to here of your seneible intrests in class 3. Seems like most of us here are your regular working guys(I.E. no money)and miss the days of good old trucks running. Smart to look for awhile but just saw a thread on one bad$$ bronco up for sale, if you can stand brite green, that would get you far ahead of the pack. Thanks Tim

Where's the link for the Bronco for sale?

Although I can't afford to race Trophy Truck, I am still a proud member of the "More $$$ than brains club"!
