Hello to all racers and thanks for letting us play, we are Tim Wiley and Stephen Moe also the worst pit crew ever, and we run a retro 79 full size jeep cherokee. The truck was just in jp magazine's november issue, that was shot at 2007 parker race that we were going to enter bitd class 3000 only to find out in tech that they cancelled, so we spectated instead and joined up for jeep speeds new 3 series and helped in the pits a little. We built this rig from the ground up and raced in our local series to a second place in 2004 and a championship in 2005.We are a couple of working guys who like to have fun with some very understanding wives. We have had photos and mentions in dusty times and whiplash newspapers as well as voted one of the top ten jeeps of 2006 in jp magazine. The truck is constructed to score rules and is a tank, but fast and a lot of fun to run. Nothing hi-tech but old proven technology.I will try to download some photos of the truck and Stephen and I.We are looking forward to getting back to racing shortly while I build a new low comp. motor to keep from running race fuel and find fuel in baja easier.

Love the Jeep, besides, it's good to see someone else with leaf springs on all four corners.

Hi, you know even though it does ride on leaf springs it is a pretty good ride and does alright in the whoops(for what it is).I have it set up very soft as I can collapse the front end by pushing down on the push bar

We would like soon, but they want a serious amount of money to enter but thats the least of it. Time off and trying to get all the help together is the hard part.We really want to run against the moss guys!.But I also dont like being looked down upon because we run only a class 3 so we wanted to run in bitd, but since they cancelled that we might try some of the other series(pictures soon as I can get them downloaded,I am still new to this computer thing)

I have to say, getting pics on here has been a pain. Many of us have used supermotors.net to upload (create an account), then post the "link" here and they show right up. You can change the size there, etc.
Until Cam gets off his seriously bruised ass! (put the pic here cam!!)... and figures out some other way to put pics up, it works the best.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but I think it comes from having to resize them Cam. My pics are all bigger than the max file size. I don't have a good program for easily resizing the pics, so I end up going elsewhere to upload and resize, and then stick the link in here.

Good to see more trucks coming out of the woodwork. What is the wheelbase on that vintage Cherokee?

The wheelbase is just a hair under 108" according to score rules. The truck was constructed to score rules figuring to run there at some time. I have pictures on my computer, but not in jpeg, trying to figure out how to convert them.

Should have been in marketing, I thought that's why you quit the computer world to be the new czar of Class 3 racing. By the way, can I now run coil-overs on the front of my Blazer?

Pike's may prove me wrong, but if you're not running a coil-over set-up up front, you're sucking wind.

They cancelled class 3000 (3), but Jeepspeed is HUGE. They get a ton of entries and have really good contingency and backing by Jeep.
I think Moss was asking what the factory wheel base is. What is the factory wheel base of that thing?

factory #'s are 108"

Well technically it does have current plates and registration, insurance, aaa towing on it and have driven it on rare occasions(race fuel is to damn expensive anymore). I guess I could put the low gearset back in the transfercase and go tear up the rockcrawler trails around here????on second thought nah! to slow...

Try photo resizer. They offer a free trial-something like 20 free uses. The it's like $20 bucks. Just do a google search on the net. GL
