Hey guys (and gals, of course),

Are any of you artist wanna-bee's that do cool drawings of Broncos, Blazers and Jeeps?

As we get closer to the Mint 400, I think the first Class 3 Cup race should be documented in the form of a killer t-shirt. If we could keep the costs down, I think we could sell enough shirts to cover the costs, and each entrant could get one for being there. when I did my shirts, the most expensive part was the creation of the silk screens. I think, beyond that, I was getting each shirt (including printing) for about 5-6 bucks. You have to spread out the cost of the silk-screen creation over the entire batch, of course.

I think SNORE would let us use the Mint 400 logo, but I will check with them.

Anyway, I'd like to see Ford, Chevy, and Jeep represented, but I suppose we could just pick one. What do you guys think? I doubt I can afford to hire Rory from Racers Only to whip up some artwork for us. It's great, but not cheap.

Let me know if you like the idea, would buy a shirt, and can draw really cool for a super low fee! (like a free shirt!) he he

Hey Ken,

My web design guy could probably help out on that end. He's really good and dirt cheap. What do you have in mind? Send some ideas to bajabronco13@hotmail.com and I'll pass it along.

By the way, I have a silk screen guy in LA if your guy can't come through. Also keep in mind more colors usually cause the price of each unit go up. At least that's been my experience.

Once the Drawing start presenting them selves, I might have a guy that can do the shirts very cheap...
He's a friend of mine that works out of a room at his house so he dont really have much overhead to cover..

Bring on the designs & I'll show them to him for prices. :D

Apparently the shirt guys grow on trees, I have one available as well, cheap. I will ask about the artwork thing, may have someone to do that but not sure.

Thanks guys, that is all good news, because the silk-screen creation was what killed me way back when. I didn't have a "connection", nor do I now!!

We might be able to use some "pictures"... I don't know.

We now have all 3 models of broncos represented, jeeps (cherokee style only so-far), blazers and ramchargers!

Maybe we better pick one!! (how about a CJ - ha ha... can't offend any board members that way!)

Ken-
I'd buy a shirt as it sounds like a neat idea and regardless of vehicle(s) I would wear it proudly in support of the Cup...

sounds like you have picked enough back up shirt makers...but I also have one I have used in the past in North OC-Just in case. He was reasonable at the time.

true, but you are not yet a member of the Class 3 Cup! Are ya gunna race it? We'd love to see ya out there!!

It won't be a big surprise that I'll be looking into the Jeepspeed "Class 3" and trying to recruit some of those folks, as well as any jeepspeeds that still run
4x4. The more the merrier!

Just goofing Ken. My CJ7 is a mild rock crawler but I do plan to race Class 3 in 2009 with my 86 Bronco. At least that's the game plan.

Awesome, thanks!!

Artwork needed:

the initial sponsors who jumped on, no questions asked are: BC Broncos, West Coast Broncos, Bob's Big Boy, Bronco Driver magazine, and class3Racing.com (covered above). Jeep Junkies is also going to run our write-up and if room allows, maybe we can squeeze them in too. I have messages in for BD and JJ magazine for artwork. Send me an e-mail FJ40... kenleavitt@hotmail.com or PM me - I tried to PM you.

We can probably snag the other artwork (even if only for mock-up purposes) from the websites. I will contact SNORE about the MINT logo. I sort of doubt (wonder) if Casey will let us say "Vegas to Reno" on our shirts, but I will ask them also.

Further, we need to solidify the series and nail things down and just go for it this year - even if things change later or we make up some shtuff on the fly.

love the shirts. OH - if anyone is serious about ordering one or more, let me know. I want to get enuf made up to cover the demand.

Just got off the phone with my T-Shirt guy & he says he should have no issues with this design..:)

I've not got a Price from him yet though, & I sent him a link to the latest design & told him to imagine sponsors logos along the bottom.

I told him I'm guessing between 50 to 100 shirts, Being everyone seems to want to order a few at a time..

don't kill me... but:

I would rather keep our glass panel looking neat and crisp. I think there is plenty of room for SAME size logos below the glass panel. If we keep adding them in the panel, it will look crappy pretty quick.

Down in the white, in two or three nice neat rows, maybe even a bit on the "smallish" side as we should allow room 15 or more. We haven't even begun to ask people yet, and there are hundreds of potential "associate" sponsors out there. I like getting the help from these early folks and they should be recognized on the first round of shirts.

just my 2 cents.

I had mentioned that we should make the logos even smaller, and leave room for as many as 10-15... two or three clean rows of logos. They still will look nice.

Way to go with Rod, Cam.

FJ40, don't forget to send me the "letter-head" version we talked about, when you get a chance. I want to do flyers and series sponsor requests in writing and e-mails.

Awesome design. I'm not keeping track, but I think we at 20 or so without any race teams yet - ha ha.

Ya Cam... I wasn't sure if it was just a side business or not... doing 100 shirts and doing them well is quite a commitment. It isn't a slam, just want to make sure he knows about the potential volume and is ok with it. I agree about beefy-t's.

Logos can be resized as sponsors come by, e-mailling letterhead to ken.

I was contemplating putting our schedule on the front - 4 races, for example. I have note into snore about using the MINT 400 logo. I expect they will say no, so we might just have 4 bullets... or whatever the final number is.

shirt looks good. I'm in for at least two in xl. I'll pop for more if needed to get the #of shirts up.

I also have shirts made for our MTB team and races and have a screen printer that is reliable and affordable. We usually do runs in 150-200 shirts. If the other 20 shirt makers fall through.

Team is utahmountainbiking.com

We mostly compete in the intermountain cup which is a Utah based XC series.

I usually race my single speed, and get worked by most of the other riders who are in WAY better shape than me!

Hey Brian, that's pretty funny. I'm sure you and I were at the same races. California Series, Sea Otter Classic, Big Bear and Mammoth Nationals, Cactus Cup. Glad to see there is some mountain bikers in the group. Moab, everyones got to experience that place on in their life. Whether on two wheels or four.

I still have my PDR jersey, I just don't fit in it any more, lol.

Sea Otter is awesome! I raced at Squaw Valley, Mt. Waterman, Castaic Lake, Jurupa Hills where I cut my teeth in DH. Most of my races were for the Amateur Cup in Big Bear and obviously the nationals. I came "out of retirement" to race the national at Fontana in 2006 and got 7th place after not touching a bike for over a year. Ha! Went to Whistler in '06 as well. What an experience! If you've got anything left in you for the MTB, you've got to go there once. What a dream.....riding up the lift with bears under your feet, huge tables and fast lines through the forest. It's incredible! Too bad I've gone to the fat and lazy side.
