Hello everyone,

I'm thrilled to provide you with the offical list of Class 3 Cup Board Members. It will be our job to vote on races, rules, and anything else pertinent, such as membership fees. I think it's ok if two people are named on each team, in case of driver of record changes, but this will also be determined by the by the board if anyone thinks it's an issue.

Here you go and thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement. I'm on my way to a trophy shop to start pricing a "cup". :)

I'm having a little fun with these team names, so please send me the correct name for your team, if you want one!

Please do not distribute this list elsewhere until after the press release goes out.

Hell I'd paint it pink and put Tapex tampon stickers on the side if they'd pay me to race.:D I'd just wear a paper bag on my head at the interviews.

Yes we hope to have one of our own added to the field sometime this year (we're already involved with a couple of the other teams in the class). West Coast Broncos is stoked to be a part of the Class 3 Cup and hope we can also support it as a sponsor. Thanks again Ken for spearheading this effort, it looks to be a fun ride. Glad to see you got ahold of Sal. He was pretty excited about it when I told him. His truck is at our shop now getting some work done.

thanks guys!

I'm embarrassed to say when Sal called me, I thought it was a sales call or someone "looking" for me, like a credit card company or something!! I was like "nobody named Ken here".... I felt bad when he explained where he got the number!! He is very interested in MDR so maybe we should consider that for one race later in the year. Much to be discussed in coming days. If there are things we want general feedback on, we can post under the Class 3 Cup in the public areas. if there are specific "voting" things, we can post under the Drivers Forum. I have Sal's numbers so I know how to reach him to get his votes if he can't make it to the web.

Hey Yikes, your logo is awesome. Wanna take a crack at a C3Cup logo? I'm thinking something shiny, mechanical-looking, like a flaming Holy-Grail Goblet meets transformers with a big "3" on it!!

Nah, Yikes and I just know each other from other sites and interests, and we live pretty close to each other. I know a lot of the other folks here too but more from my involvement in Broncos in general than from racing.

BTW Ken, I sent a PM to Blanco to see about setting up a sub-forum for us in the Teams section, so I'll post some pix of our junk there whenever that gets set up. I also offered to post up some pix of Sal's racer if we could get a team sub-forum set up for Harmanos Cervantes Racing too.

Ha! Actually I was afraid of the paint coming off with the letters, it is pretty fragile on that vintage truck. Thanks, by the way for the other stuff you sent, it was there by Wednesday, truck is close to being ready to go.

Is a goblet not goemetric? ha ha (actually, I'm only 1/2 kidding. If it were made of metal, it might have a geometric look to it.

Whenever man, I certainly can't draw and don't have CAD.

It seems like we have a ton of shirt-makers out there, but no artists eh?

Chuck, if you see this: who did the art on your web-site. That type of stuff would be perfect for a shirt (3 or 4 swb racers plowing through some mock-up of Vegas... throw in a few cacti and maybe a jack-rabbit (and a few tourists running out of the way)

great! thanks! It would be cool (if we don't have too much junk on the shirts) to have small logos for our initial supporting sponsors, along with the series sponsor, whoever that ends up being. Thanks for the name

& I'm sure my t-shirt guy could make shirts like that with no issues. :)

Only thing I might add would be the Mint400 & the date maybe.
Personally when ever I go to Baja or any race event, I look for some sort of date etc to show what event I got the shirt at..

I already sent a copy of that to my t-shirt guy looking for input on price etc....

Cool FJ!! I think the Class3racing.com should match the font that Cam uses for the site. Maybe get the checkered flag in there. (off topic)In fact, I was thinking the decals should be the same font as well.

I agree totally! (is that you Gilbert?). Anyway, I don't know how he did the ghost-cars, but... uh... awesome!! How come I'm in last place - ha ha!! oh, wait, look at my dnf record! he he

I totally agree about the Mint 400 and date... although that implies we are having a shirt for "just" that race, as opposed to the series. i'm not saying that is bad...

Another option is to confirm our "series schedule" and put all 3, 4, or 5 races/dates in small letters (same color ink).

I will check with SNORE to see if they'd let us use the Mint 400 logo. That would be very cool. We might sell a few to the die-hard SWB guys out there, but certainly we shouldn't count on that doing more than helping defray the total cost. I know my family would buy several. No freebies except to entrants, sponsors, and artists/t-shirt guys. yes cam, you are covered - ha ha. I don't really want to get involved with a business/vendor license, but perhaps PCI or someone would hang them on their trailer to peddle - who knows.

Is it just me, or has their been a major shortage of cool shirts you actually WOULD wear (that don't say Robby, Flueger, Post on them??).

One last thing. It's either got to be on the front or it's got to have a small logo on the front (pocket-t). What do you guys think??

ANYWAY, I think it is pretty dang awesome looking.

I personally prefer the Fonts on the Site Stickers than on the Sites Header(Banner)
I like the 3 to stand out a wee bit more..
The way I have it on the site Banner , If it were a shirt or a steeeker the blends in too much & you dont notice it too much.
The way I did the stickers, the number 3 stands out better from the letters. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/m2c.gif

Once again, I like your thinking...
Having it only have the Mint 400 would seem limiting as to how many shirts to have made.
if we do the series, then were covered for the year, We can buy a bulk supply & have them for every event.
Yet nobody will want more shirts being they already got the same old shirt that we still offer. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif
Yet if thats the Case & we get shirts with the series, we need to get into some serious dissicusions NOW about what the series will be, because the Mint 400 is comming up fast & we wanna have shirts for our 1st event dont we?
We might sell a few to the die-hard SWB guys out there, but certainly we shouldn't count on that doing more than helping defray the total cost. I know my family would buy several. Thats a good point you bring up about the legalities of selling them?
I'm sure theres a loop hole for that, such as its sold via donations to the Class3Cup in attempts to keep fundage to keep this series going or something.
Its not Sale for profit.

& being I'm figuring that I'll be getting the shirts done up for us myself & being that I'll most likely have to pay for them to be made, in hopes that I will get the money back through the Members memberships or whatever, Yeah I figured I'd get one. :D
Is it just me, or has their been a major shortage of cool shirts you actually WOULD wear (that don't say Robby, Flueger, Post on them??).
Oh! So True....
If they dont actually say the names it got their trucks on it.

where can we buy one! ha ha. I'm sold - I love the colors, the flag, the ghost cars. perfect. I suppose someone could always find room for improvement, but there are several things I like about 'em.

Regardless of whether we sell for profit or not, you can't have a booth at contingency selling stuff without a permit, but I'm pretty sure we could find a vendor (preferably the CLASS SERIES SPONSOR) to peddle them for us. That could be at the Mint and at their shop going forward, if it's someplace like Butch's or Kartek.

Man, throw the series sponsor logo in front of the "Class 3 Cup" and throw the other sponsors logos on the back below the checkered flag and call it DONE for round 1. That is my vote. PLEASE start a thread... either here or in the driver's forum for the board members to say "yay" or "nay". I've got other stuff to work on (sponsors) and I like 'em!

See the FAQ if you haven't yet. It answers a lot of questions.

http://www.class3racing.com/showthread.php?t=648

we are soon to vote on how many and "which" races. Costs will always be the promotor costs plus whatever "cup" fee we agree to charge -for the side-pot (it will be pretty small, but adds to the sponsor money and of course, the more entries, the more money!!)
