I was just reading through the March issue of Off Road Magazine & while reading what they Call UnLoaded (seems like letters to me? http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif )
I read about this guy asking what it took to build a Trophy Truck & that he'd like to race the next Baja 1000.

Well Jerrod Jones,, Figured that this guy is not Super Rich, Like most of us. :o
& told him the facts about what it would cost to run a Trophy Truck for one 1000 race & then went on to recommend Class 3. :D

I think thats http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/awesome_dude.gif

I went ahead at that point & e-mailed him telling him how much I was excited to see him recommending Class 3 & seeing his support for the Class.
Of course at that point I also explained to him that theres is a popular web site out, that sole purpose is to help increase the numbers of people racing Class 3. :D

I hope he prints it.
That would be some great ink & might help get a few more people excited about Class 3.

If any of you are so inclined as to write letters/e-mails to a magazine, this might be a good time.

Contact jerrod Jones.. @ Off Road Magazine.

I hesitate to give the e-mail Address, because I'm not 100% I got it right. :o

Hey that is great, I forsee the future in class three making a come back of sorts, with the economy going south, especially in construction where most of the racers come from, they are going to look for more affordable classes. Now that toyota is back in class 3 maybe you will see that the other manufactures will see that the average joe class has the potential for them to sell more vehicles that would fit in this class.(but that could also be bad in that there would end up being big money teams to compete against)

Good points! I say bring on the factory teams! They may win in the long run, but I'd rather have a solid, tested, proven racer right now than show up with a newly designed car. We will give 'em hell. I welcome it, I know Moss does - in fact it may be instrumental for us to save the class. This comes from a guy, mind you, who lost to the FJ at the Baja 250 (it's first race). It was really fun racing with them, I passed them twice cleanly and had I been smarter I know in my heart I would have won that race (crashed in the silt in case you didn't know).

Anyway, I agree it's a modest-man's version of off-road racing (I didn't say "smart"), and as long as the rules don't get silly, and as Matt Pike puts it: "as long as the class doesn't get ruined like it once did", we have something pretty cool.

We need to make sure all racers feel they are competitive if well-prepped and drive smart, and that new COMPARABLE vehicles can join us. We do have to watch for inconsistencies in rules (BITD). By sticking together we CAN do all of these things - oh... did someone mention having a little fun? I have said many times... Not Post, Herbsts', Baldwins (you name 'em)... none of them have more fun than my little team. We have disappointments, sure, but we came for fun and we are gunna have it. They may go faster, arive in a jet, chase in a helicopter, etc... but I don't need that. I'm proud of my family and our accomplishments, and I wouldn't trade places with them for all the money in the world (well maybe just for one weekend!)
