Link on Pirate states that legendary desert racer Manny Esquerra suffered a possible heart attack while racing Parker. No reported wreck involved.

Nothing up on Race-desert yet so unconfirmed. Bummer if true though!

Very sad, but he sure went the right way. I saw him on Friday at contingency and he was all smiles. I burned my hand years ago trying to light a flare for him when his truck broke down near our camp - my favorite Manny memory.

Godspeed Manny. He was difinitely one of the greatest drivers in off road racing.

wow - huge bummer. I had SO many pics of Manny on my walls as a kid. what a good way to go, if that was all it was.

a true wheel man. guy had great class & really reporesented himself & motorsports well. he'll be missed but is at much better race now.
i have great memories of watching his tear it up in the ranger. he was always friendly and you could count on that big smile to greet you.
