Had a question today from a friend on whether a 9" front end (like those offered by BC Broncos) would be Class 3 legal in an EB? Rulebook says "Front differential must be a production automotive type but axle tubes may be replaced". 9" is a production automotive type...

Just curious what others' opinions might be.

I dont have a racer yet...but if i did i wouldnt have a problem competing against someone who ran a front 9" or any solid front axle in anything that needed a solid front axle. i say bring it on. in fact i think one of the early broncos entered in the last 1000 had one in the front?

I'm trying to remember if Chuck or Scott has one in their truck?

I'm not a tech official, But I'd say YES.

Front & rear suspension must be of the same basic design & concept as originally produced & installed on the chassis to which it mounted. This wll be determined by manufacturer of chassis & the year the chassis was manufactured.

It would be legal for any solid axle set up.

I am running a 9" in the front. From what I got out of the rule book it is legal.

Yes.....You could even put it in a late model TTB front end as well....as long as you just use the "center section" and make it work with the TTB set up.

You just can't put in a complete solid axle front end in place of a TTB front end truck.....or a TTB front end in a solid axle front end truck.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts - you confirmed what my hunch was.
