Hans Device - where did you find yours?

HI There, Just wondering where you have either bought one, or looked into buying one. I've just started w/ my research - I'm sure I could probably find a local dealer in Oregon - but wanted to start here first.

I see that there are also two other companies besides Hans - one company called Hutchens and the other R3.............just looking for any thoughts. .....

The guy at my local race shop raves about the R-3, Maybe because thats what he sells, :rolleyes:

But the way he explained it it protects you better from side snaps & lets you look around better than the Hans.

He also said that the way the part on back is shaped it fits in with most race seats, leaving you much more comfotable.

I know that RelentlessPursuit on here did extensive research on this and ended up buying an R3. He basically had good things to say about it after using it at the Baja 1000 last year. Maybe he will step in and comment on where he got it (he probably said in a previous post, do a search).

Here is my response to Julie on PM that she asked for. Copying here for others reference.

"Yes, I would dfinately recommend it! I am requiring ALL driver's and passengers of my race truck to wear some sort of head and neck restraint system to be in my racer at all! I think the R3 is the best thing going. Expensive, but worth every penny in my opinion. They were back ordered at the time so I just bought mine from the first vendor that got them in. (I put my name on a few lists of people waiting for them). They are just under $1,000. I think pretty much the same price from all venders. Just make a few calls or do and internet search. Also, do a search on Race-dezert.com . There is a bunch of info there talking about them. Good luck.....AND A GREAT BIRTHDAY PRESENT!" Stay safe! Jerry
