Hi Everyone,

I am friends with the Moss Brothers from Cal Poly. Everything I know about trucks and bikes and desert came from those guys and their team members.

My question is should I drag my 1977 Bronco out of storage and redue the red beast with today's suspension technology and safety equipment or just dump it and find a late model IFS?

Either way I know ill be spending a wad of cash.

I just see the longer wheel base as a better setup.

Joe, How's it going? Missed you at the 1000. Are you going to use it for pre-running and beating around in the desert? If so I would go for a late model as there are lots of aftermarket parts out there and they have a lot more room. As much as I love the early broncos, you can't beat the IFS if built correctly. If you want to sell the red beast let me know, I may be interested.

I'd say for a Class 3 Racer go longer with the TTB.
But if its just a weekend warrior just keep the EB.

Hi Gary,

The 1000 was epic. Good run for you guys and we finished 6th in open pro mc. Amazing that we had no problems and finished as well as we did.

Sell the red beast? Yes, that is kind of the plan or ??. Has not been on the road since.... Well the plates say 1994. I have driven it on dealer plates a bit. Needs some TLC and a smog for transfer. But maybe for a price it could go as is.

I am very impressed with the other members rigs. Stuff has come a long wasy since I tried to keep up with you guys back in the day. Great times breaking parts and having fun. Remember the Yellow Monster Ram Charger? Remember your front diff? Man that was fun. 440 baby! Pin it and watch the drive train parts spit out. LOL! I was such a rookie.

Give me a call to catch up. Ill pm my number.

Thanks,

Baja Joe

Hey, That looks familiar!

Now how did that Toy keep up with the Fords??!!

Maybe the extra 4 cyl under the hood?

Plus the driver, of course!

Gary, with all those lights remember the dual 100+ w alternators? The motor dropped about 1000 rpms when I threw the frankenstien switch for those babies!

Baja with 650 watts of day light was great.

Was that one of the early baja runs for Kevin's quad?

I found some other great bronco pics last night. Can how do I post them here?

Lets see some photos of that spare tire set up on the white Bronco. Sweet rides. Even though Toyota looks like fun to drive. You can't knock a toy, they just keep on running.

Hey Baja Joe,

Did you ever sell your Bronco? How about some pics of it. I say you build that thing into a racer.

I have not touched it all year. Frustrating but then is has basically sat since 1995 so....

Just too many things like getting married and all this year.

I guess I am at a cross roads. Either dump some cash and time into it or see if someone wants to buy it.

The smog issue with it being a 1977 has me really bummed. My Cal Poly friends (Ken and Gary especially) helped me build a really nice 351 W that runs great and gets better gas mileage than the stock restricted 302 i took out.

I will post a few pics (i don't know how but will learn). Could be a great Bronco for someone wanting a clean old ride.

Adios,

Joe
