So... Class 3000 isn't even listed anymore on Casey's "Class Comparison Sheet".

I wonder who the 5 guys running class 3000 are?? Perhaps Jeepspeed guys in that "class 3 JS"? That will be interesting... when other class 3 guys show up to run against them. What will they do then??

3000 isn't even listed in Casey's rule book anymore either.

Anybody know??

Don't forget, you can follow on on today's race (already underway)...

(oh - I should have mentioned - the slow classes are gone already - the big boys leave at noon). Get your PC ready to follow along!

Maybe we can talk to Casey and see if we can make the parker race a go if we can get enough guys together. I have pre-run the course a couple of times and seems to be a perfect course for class 3?

What do you consider a Perfect Class 3 course?

the bigger question is: "Do we WANT to have Casey put the pro-class 3 back in the ranks?" His races have gotten almost as expensive as Score, and even his safari class isn't terribly cheaper. I know him pretty well, used to live just a block or two away, and raced in BITD for several years before going to SCORE and others (in a different class).

At the Vegas-to-Reno, for example, why wouldn't we just do our own thing and run Safari class... save a few bucks along the way and race against a variety of rigs? Moss ran Safari last year with Grundman driving also. They were leading the Safari rigs if my memory serves.

I was never a fan of the bitd class 3000 rules. I believe we went the furthest of all the Safari class entries. An ideal class 3 course is one with minimal whoops!

Great point - it was due to some certain people requesting changes... that he allowed 2x4 and longer wheelbase, and effectively killed Class 3 by allowing Swift (whom I like) into the class with the original trophy truck/explorer. Nobody could run with him so they nix'd the class. I like Casey a lot, but those were poor decisions based upon limited input (in my humble opinion).

Well.... I was supposed to, but I still think Don hit that rock on purpose so he wouldn't have to let me drive! :)

I believe the entry for the safari class was $600, and $1400 for the pro classes! - That almost pays for the fuel for the entire race!

By the way it looks like the class 3000 for the tt250 was converted to the spec lite vehicles. I know one of them was the Fusion mini buggy but not sure about the rest. Class one lite is how Fusion described it.

I guess Casey ran out of numbers, and perhaps is making a statement about Class 3. As long as we keep our Class 3 stuff amongst our own entries, we can go race safari, compete against numerious others, and keep our Class 3 Cup points/money to the side, which works better for numerous reasons. I don't see us racing more than one BITD race per year anyway. I love Nevada, but there are other, cheaper series that race in Nevada (with better payback percentages).

BTW... you can keep the spec 7 trucks. They look like Trophy Karts, to me. Great idea, and many people are excited about them. I'm just not one of them. Maybe when my daughter is ready to race... about age 16 or so, when she outgrows her Trophy Kart (that I don't have)!

Great points, I hate to bring up the jeepspeed thing, but it works. Instead of relying on the big organizations, maybe go with the smaller ones who need us as much as we need them? Lets not just stick with stuff in Nevada but Arizona, and Southern Cali also. Then we could cut some costs for everyone running in the class? We will make our own class 3 racing organization beholding to none others, may be more work but the rewards will be our own. Just a thought... and the parker course has less whoops and flat graded roads, and enough sand, silt to make a 4wd truck and advatage.. Thanks tim

I will be racing in C3 next season. The race I would like to see added to the C3 series is the BITD race at Parker.

I don't know about all the rest of you, but for me being a participant in the big races is important because I like being a part of the whole big show. I really have no interest in racing any local so cal MDR, MORE, etc races. The entry fees for the larger races are not that much more when you take into account the total cost to go racing at each race.

I guess if you spend so much on racing, then what's the big deal to spend another $1000 or$1500 for an entry fee for the big show? As far as whiplash goes, if you have raced with them before(since your a local) then you know its the lack of organization and the loss of some of the races over the years. Other than that it is fun to run with them, especially the snowflake race. Thanks Tim

I usually race the Whiplash Snowflake race, it is one of my favorites. I raced my Explorer in C3 two years ago when they canceled the second half. Last year I ran my F150 in 1450 class.

Snowflake is a lot less money to race than the others (Baja, V2R etc) and it is local. If I am going to trailer over to another state and stay in hotels etc. then I want to race in the bigger events.

$600 for a race is very reasonable and something we could do for sure. I still will run in some of the bigger races as well, but a few well known races with these types of fees would be welcome.

i was a spectator at the tt250....where did all of those jeeps (jeepspeeds)come from ?? and now they are running the new 4 doors and yjs too. i wish some of those guys would come over and run class three...there was some high tech stuff out there.
