On the home page he says he is pulling the plug. On what, the whole organization, or just a race? http://www.prodesertracing.com/
Do they have a class 3 race in this sanction?

I got this when I clicked the link. Error 503 - Service Temporarily Unavailable
I wonder if they pulled the plug on their server as well?

If this is the same pro desert in arizona they were geared toward trucks and buggies and would run anything that would show up. They mainly ran in rocky pointe and took over from whiplash. I think that they have folded up, which is a shame since rocky pointe is a great place to race and only 3.5-4.0 hours from phoenix. I hope some one picks this up. Thanks Tim

I think its just a bad server. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Dan pulled the plug on the whole series. Unfortunate. He put forth a good effort and really tried to run a good series. He had very limited resources and had a lot of trouble with some politics south of the border.

That is really sad.

I am afraid that whiplash will end up taking it over again. I love racing down there as we seem to have less of the problems associated with the baja, great hotels, good food, and quick to get there.

So Whiplash had all those races before them? Whats wrong with Whiplash?

A book could be written about what's wrong with Whiplash. Suffice to say that they're a poorly run racing organization that now runs races solely here in AZ. They have good attendance at their bike races but the truck/buggy events usually seem to be an afterthought.

ADRA (AZ Desert Racing Association) ran the Mexico races until they went bankrupt in the early '90s. Whiplash took them over and ran them for years until, as the story goes, Jay (Whiplash owner) was basically told not to come back to Mexico. Dan (PDR) picked them up a few years ago and gave it a good shot.
