Yup, Moss is correct. Bob Nyeste from Kamloops BC raced this Bronco with a ton of success in the PNW in the 80's. He won numerous championships in BC, Washington and Oregon. Believe it or not, there was a lot of desert racing up there until the mid 90's. It had a 460 that was set back 6 or 8" or so, full fiberglass body. You have to love the Rough Country racing shocks that were the top of the line back then. He totalled it in 90 or so in a high speed crash...the frame and cage were still decent and it bounced around to a few different guys over the years and was never rebuilt as far as I know. I know it also came with the molds for the fg body, which I would love to get.

As far as I know, it was actually a Class 4...for the longest time in the 70's and 80's Class 3 was stock vehicles and Class 4 was for modified. For a few years, there was Class 3S and 3L to give the Jeeps a chance against the stock long wheelbase trucks.

After this,Bob built a Class 4 Ford that was powered by by propane. He raced it in a few Baja 1000 races in the early 90's, then built a Class 8 Ford for the BITD series. He finished 2nd place in the series a few times.

My first job after school was working for Bob at his 4x4 shop. Him and my Dad used to race together in the 70's and 80's. His son and I are still good friends. I will get a hold of Dale and see if he can post some more pictures....

It is still one of my favourite race rigs of all times....

I remember them all to well. Craig is skinny and has hair in the first pickture though. You should find a picture of your guys rollover in the Kamloops race...

Man, who can forget Rocky and his starter outfits? Where is the Bronco now?

I have some old pictures to scan as well...it is on my to do list....

How about the cruiser in my avatar...
