I just got this in a e-mail from Tony.

URGENT SAN FELIPE 250 PRE-RUNNING NOTICE
February 22, 2007
Although SCORE was informed by the San Felipe City Officials that the revised course was secured on February 11th and the course map was posted on our website, we have now been informed that negotiations for use of the Huatamote Wash are continuing.

As a result the Huatamote and Chanate Loop CAN NOT be marked or pre-run at this time. Pre-running can begin at The Arches but at approx. race mile 14 the course markings will direct you to race mile 82.3. At this point the course can be completely pre-run back to the finish at The Arches.

Preran from Arches to OPR-and-Chanate intersection.

As usual
Sandy
Very sandy
Very whooped
Silt beds await YOU!
2WD trucks beware

If you can only prerun ONE area .... run up Huatamote to the rocky choke point (You WILL know it!). Gay-ron-teed that there will be a jam there ... a misdirected T-T will cause chaos. Know the alternate lines. Live them.

East Valley Road south, from Morelia Jct to RM121 access, is smooth and fast -- 50 mph in F350 -- until last two miles ... past the corral ... which is mildly-whooped. (For route from EVR to Chanate headwaters/fence line turn left/south at rock cairn.)

A non-"prerunner" prerunning said that Azufre was sorta whooped but tight = desert pin-stripping on ove-lifted disco F250. Sounded like it was nothing compared to Chanate and/or Hautamote.

Pre ran Matombi(around rm 124) thru to Bahia Santa Maria(mi casa) and the section after Matombi is like a rock garden, so watch your tires!(and autofab 2link haha).

I can run Matombi all day especially on a quad, but i hit rock on my quad a few weeks ago in the middle of Matombi and bent the rim(front right), so I rode out to the road and sitting on the far back left side of the seat the whole time(can get annoying) rode to the tire shop across from chelo's cafe by the fire and police station. The guy took a sledge hammer to my rim and filled it with air havent had a problem since.

Ill will be taking some pics from our spot Ill be looking of for those class 3's. See you guys down there. 9 days till my departure.

Team Donahoe’s Toyota FJ Cruiser to make competitive debut!

Corona, CA - Team Donahoe expands its racing fleet and sponsors with the launch of their new Class 3 Toyota FJ Cruiser Race Truck! KC Hilites and Nitto Tires have partnered with Team Donahoe to be the title sponsors of Team Donahoe Toyota FJ Cruiser. The Team Donahoe/KC Hilites/Nitto Tires Toyota FJ Cruiser will make its competitive debut at the upcoming SCORE Baja 250 in Ensenada, MX March 10, 2007. This racing debut comes after numerous testing sessions and a midnight run to Barstow the week of the race for a final test of suspension and lighting. Once the final test session was complete, Kreg Donahoe, owner of Team Donahoe, felt confident that their newest creation is ready to be unleashed on the off-road world.

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->This new Toyota FJ Cruiser platform presented a challenge and opportunity to Team Donahoe. Both presented themselves in racing SCORE Class 3 instead of Stock Mini. The new class allowed Team Donahoe to let their suspension prowess loose on a more unlimited truck platform and challenged them to create aftermarket suspension components that could run on the truck and remain competitive in a more unlimited class.

Team Donahoe had an edge in designing new suspension for the race truck as Donahoe Racing was one of the first companies to have a suspension system available for the new Toyota FJ cruiser. Donahoe Racing worked closely with Toyota marketing in developing their launch strategy for the new FJ while the vehicle was in the planning stages. Donahoe Racing then received their FJ from Toyota as a result of their involvement with them on aftermarket suspension products for the FJ Cruiser which included Toyota’s SEMA effort. Donahoe Racing’s development for the Toyota FJ has come full circle with the launch of Team Donahoe’s/KC Hilites/Nitto Tire Toyota FJ Race Truck. The race truck, though competing in an unlimited class, is still outfitted with several off-the-shelf components available for the FJ owner. This race truck, along with Rod Millin’s Stock Mini FJ Cruiser, will help to showcase the versatility of the new Toyota FJ Cruiser.

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->Team Donahoe’s Toyota FJ Race truck will be piloted by Donahoe Racing’s head engineer Dylan Evans and Kreg Donahoe’s long time racing partner Steve Krieger. These two gentlemen were hand picked by Team Donahoe owner, Kreg Donahoe to pilot this new truck in the SCORE Desert Racing series. Dylan has an innate knowledge of the truck as he, along with Kreg, designed and built the truck. Krieger is a veteran off-road racer who has raced off-road for more than 20 years, competing in just about every truck class with different teams, including Team Donahoe. Steve and Dylan had both been drivers on Team Donahoe’s other racing effort, but were pulled off of that truck and put in charge of the driving for Team’s new Toyota FJ Cruiser.

The Team Donahoe/KC Hilites/Nitto Tire Toyota FJ Cruiser is also sponsored by Banks Power, who is developing performance power products for the new FJ and using the Team Donahoe FJ as their research vehicle. Team Donahoe’s FJ Cruiser effort is also supported by Norwalk Toyota Off-Road Superstore, MasterCraft Seats, who put very sturdy and comfortable 3G seats in the new FJ. KMC Wheels supplied their Enduro Bead Lock wheels. Total Chaos helped Team Donahoe out with front suspension components. Currie Enterprises supplied the Ford 9” rear-end. Precision Gear supplied gears for the new FJ, which is also outfitted with Light Racing’s jounce shocks. Anaheim Hills Auto Body painted the new paint scheme for the race truck. ADS wiring supplied wiring services and Kartek Off-Road assisted Team Donahoe with outfitting the rest of the new Toyota FJ cruiser to make it race ready.

Team Donahoe is looking forward to this first race for their new Class 3 Toyota FJ Cruiser as well as the entire season to showcase what this truck can do. Look for a full line of FJ Cruiser suspension products, as well as fenders and hoods from Donahoe Racing Enterprises.

For more information on Team Donahoe, please contact Team Donahoe at 951.279.8000.

http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/4.gif Let me know if you learn who that Moron is..

It was Jesse Jones that went over the edge.

It was Mark Post TT#3. They say he hit a federale on the hwy. and attempted to make a run for it. they caught him at the finish line. He was bailed out, but i understand the truck is still imounded.

pretty nice pics you have here, .:)

congrats on dylan evans and chris raffo..

we had a pretty good time at baja, man, i don't know where to start, well..
i will tell the short story, we start it first, our race car was running like never before, everything was working awsome, suspension , engine, everything, i was co driving, my bro was driving, i was reading the gps, and believe me, i don't know how we survive before whitout it, its a beauty, it's a most have, man, it's awsome,.. well, , as i said, the chupakabras was running awsome when on a suddenly, we lost the rear shocks, well, the structure that holds the shocks to the roll cage broke, and with it the air pump for the helmets too, i look back and saw that we lost the rear suspension, and why that happends?, it's kind of embarrasing, that's why i won't show any picture of that, haha, we didnn't finish that job, the shocks were holding just by one little 1 1/2" tube, just like that, i don't know how tha hell we missed that, it was an obvius thing to happend, it was just a matter of time, **** happens right, so, we unmount the shocks from the differential so they don't get damage, we were looking for a welder, but nobody had one, that happen 200 yds before checkpoint 1, that was like mile 50, by that time we were like 15 to 20 minutes ahead of the second place, that was raffo , we manage to continue on the course without rear shocks, imagine that, so, we continue for more than 30 miles in the course into the higway, then we called the weatherman to give the status that we were out of the race...

... you never stop learning, but we are happy, with a lot of courage to come back, so you will see us at the baja 500, more preparation will be done on our racecar, ,.. thks a lot guys, ...

ps.. will continue the long story later, see yaa all.. :D

I think the class will grow a lot soon!

We talked to the Clive Skilton at the start line…he is building a jeep TJ class 3 and another team is building a 07 jeep JK class 3. There is also another Toyota FJ in the works.

Team Donahoe is doing everything we can to promote the class and the sport.

The video it´s been around many forums now, creating many controversies, the bottom line is that he hit a patrol car and took off and endangered oncoming traffic (this we saw happend, by the way), sow you make the call...... were all exposed to this as a racers, chasers or expectaters.
He didint brake any of the race rules do, but a lot of traffic ones.
The PFP made a big mistake stoping him like that in front of all that people, they cud have made it after the finnish line in the stadium.
Big mistakes on bot parts.
It´s bad publicity for our sport.
:( Mis dos centavos....

I suppose I can see that side of it,Yet was the car parked in a stupid spot?

& what about ZOO RD I know people get hit there, have the Racers ever been busted for hit & run on zoo road, where the Dumbass'es play chicken with the racers?

These race's are like Eroupes WRC races, People park & stand where they should'nt!

They wanna get close to the action.. I know, I'm one of those people. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/paperbag.gif

cool, thks guys, it felt awsome,, we start it racing in 1998, 9 years later, this is the first time this race car feels that way, i mean, this is the first time that we have a true class 3 racer, the previews chupakabras didn't had that much suspension travel or wheel travel, believe me, by the start of this race, i still was scare, i was afraid, there are parts of the course where it's very hard to go through, maybe not for the others, but for us it was, well, that's what i thought, but not, as soon as we got to those bad sections of the course the chuapakabras was able to go through without a problem, i was surprise about the performance, the last time that we ran was the 2006 baja 500, by that time we swap to coil overs in the front, but keept the stock leaf springs on the rear, we saw much improvement in the front, but the rear was acting like a damn horse, it was bottoming pretty ugly, we saw the ground a lot of times, i mean, the rear lift off on every little bump, that promote the broken tranny, so, from there to this race, we upgrade to long travel deavers leaf spring, , and we install fox bump stops in the front only, for the next baja 500 we will have fox bump stops on the rear for sure, so, the 14" inches of front wheel travel plus the 16" of the rear, made a huge difference; i know, everybody knows that combination, but not us, we were way behind, right, so, ...

getting back to business, i will buy those pictures and will post them here.

We heard about this earlier today, but we were not certain. It has just been confirmed by SCORE Ops. that #3 Riviera Racing TT was stopped at the FINISH by Mexican Federal Police (aka Federales).

Mark Post has been arrested and taken to jail, and the #3 Riviera Racing TT has been impounded.

Apparently #3 Post was speeding on the highway during the race, and did not stop when Mexican Federal Police tried to stop them.

Post tried to outrun the Federales. When he got to Santo Tomas it was GAME OVER.

SCORE officials are working with Mexican officials to straighten this mess up. Licenciado Oscar Ramos (SCORE Mexican Liaison) has been contacted to see if he can help diffuse the situation.
