Otay, i got the truck about 2 years ago bone stock, wish i had pics of it from then. First thing i did was to put a 4" Rancho lift kit on it
http://offroadworld.tenmagazines.com/gallery/BknBronco/148893.jpg
Then came 4:56 gears, detroit locker, rims and tires. And that was pretty much all i did with it, i just took it out on moderate trails, and towing the bikes out to the dez. I even considered doing a sas for crawlin, until i began chassing for a group of friends down in Baja.

Made it!
http://offroadworld.tenmagazines.com/gallery/BknBronco/152788.jpg
Along with the miles of whooped out trails, and fire roads i had a blast, and became hooked on the go fast stuff! I realized that my Rancho kit wasn't going to cut it, and that i needed to upgrade in the worst way! So i began to scour the classifieds, to this point i have gotten Autofab coil buckets, eibach coils, deavers, and King shocks.
http://offroadworld.tenmagazines.com/gallery/BknBronco/152783.jpg
The next trip down south i was bottoming out so bad, it was damaging my fenders, so back to the classifieds i went, and i found me some Autofab fenders!
http://offroadworld.tenmagazines.com/gallery/BknBronco/152780.jpg
I was put in touch with the guys at Solo motorsports, and after talking with them, i decided to go with their beams, and radius arms, the bko is going in this week to get all the parts of the puzzle put together. After the suspension is on, i will begin saving for other projects, i guess i opened up a can of worms...

Broken, That gap is super common. I've seen several similar radius arms break the upper plate. There's a lot rearward of force going through those. A lot of people get away with it, so you'll probably be ok, but I would at minimum inspect it regularly.
I attached a couple pics showing the same area on my radius arms/beams. They aren't great but good enough to see the difference. Also note the third mounting point on the inboard side of the radius arm. Can you say HEAVY DUTY! LOL

Kind of hard to tell. I had all my old suspension parts in the back along with course signs flopping around, so couldn't really test it out. From what i could tell it felt great! The steering is better, and even though both sway bars have been removed, it feels more stable.
I'm looking forward to really trying it out though!

Cam, it's kind of hard to tell from pics. There are several small brackets that need to be made in order to mount the battery tray, windshield wiper/radiator res, and everything else that is mounted on the stock inner fender.

You are correct! They skinned the outer fender leaving the core support. Doing it that way saved me a bit of cash, instead having to build a tubular support.

Having the rear sit lower will inhibit performance.

BrokenBronco, the deavers dont seem to give your bronco a stink bug look, are you really going to have deaver lower the ride height? Did you cycle those springs with your stock postitioned shock's, Im curious what your travel numbers were with the stock location?
Bronco looks clean!!! minus the white fenders but Im sure I'll be running the white fenders for a little bit too.

I dont think it would be class legal.
Original Wheelbase +/- 2" must br retained but must notexceed 108".
Frames may be strengthened by adding material but must retain stock configuration, size, & shape.
No removalof materials allowed.
Frame must remain stock length but may be notched 8" at the front of frame for ground clearance as long as top of frame rail is not modified.

Shane, i'm actually going to go up an inch and a half in the rear to get it a little more level. I'd like to change the spring rate so when it's loaded down with tools, spares, food, etc.. i won't be dragging my reciever hitch on the ground.

You can, but you will change (for the worse) the ackerman angle and create other potential issues, not to mention the added stress/leverage on the bearings and knuckles.

The balance between front and rear bump travel on a CORR truck or TT is a little different than a full-framed Bronco.

The balance between front and rear bump travel on a CORR truck or TT is a little different than a full-framed Bronco.
But if you don't know exactly what someone is running in the rear (including the springs and other gear) how can you make a blanket statement that it will inhibit performance? If you said that it could possibly lessen wheel travel or up travel I could agree. But other then that, I have to disagree.
steveG
04-12-2007, 10:47 PM
I think you're over complicating my statement.
If you said that it could possibly lessen wheel travel or up travel...
That's exactly what I meant.
You hit a big bump, the front soaks it up and the rear bucks because it ran out of travel. Not a good thing, especially in a short wheelbase truck.
Moving on....

Perhaps the ones you have experience with buck because they have highly angled shocks so they fit under the bed. The shocks on a lot of prerunner Broncos are Progressive but in the wrong direction. With a straight axle in front you will run out of travel in front first in my experience. Also depends if the driver is the type that hits stuff with the brakes on the gas on or nuetral.

Baja, I'm not sure why you think I'm arguing, it was just a comment. If you don't agree, it's ok. What Moss said is absolutely true, there's no denying that.
Am I the only one here that thinks a truck is going to buck when it runs out of rear bump travel? I can't be the only one that's seen even TTs do this.
Honestly though, it's not a big deal. I didn't mean to take this thread on a tangent.

Hey Moss,
I'm sure Steve is going to argue your suspension set up as well.
I'm sure neither he or I are trying to argue about it. There are a lot of variables that you can change and he is right that if it isn't balanced right it will do funny things on the bumps and wont go around corners to good either. On such short vehicles a little change on one ends height changes the way the weight transfers too.
