So no one is going to run with you. Maybe I should finish some projects and head to the 1000 this year looks like I would have a 50/50 chance to win.

It no fun Chasing down all the class 8s without someone in your own class to race with!!!!!

Maine Racer

Ps Good Luck I hope you have some competition.

Ya, we picked a really bad year to promise a sponsor that we would run all the races. To date they have paid out for one of three. The goal for the year is to end up with the most expensive Toyota Milestone award in the series. I expect we will see a few more entries for the 1000, but so far the mantra of entering early to attract other entires is just not working for us!

How much more do you think your spending on fuel this year over the last for traveling to & from & racing etc etc?

Except for the diesel that we buy in Mexico, that has remained fairly constant, the cost has gone up by whatever typical fuel prices have. I believe that is 25 to 35% higher than last year. It will help a bunch that the 1000 is a loop race this year. Diesel was around $2.20 in San Felipe earlier this year, hope its somewhere around the same this time. It still takes about 80 gallons to get there from up here. Dump cans will all be full on the way back.......

I've seen diesel as high as $4.95 a gallon myself & I was told by a friend that he saw it as high as $5.05 in santa ana.

I hope you guys have another trouble free race down there. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/7.gif

yeah diesel is stupid expensive nowadays. I take my F250 to tecate now to fill up plus I have a 100 gallon tank in the bed so i bring up that much every time. that tank sure makes life nice, even though all the pemex gas is so watered down...

Does anyone know the current mexican diesel cost? Even if it's in pesos per liter, that would be fine. How about gasoline cost?

Thanks!

About 3.18 for premium

It cant be 3.18 a gallon for premium. I get it for 2.00 a gallon. Premium not regular.

For those who dont really know, DO NOT BUY REGULAR GAS IN MEXICO. that crap will destroy your motor.

We need to buy gas where you are, because it was about $3.50 a gallon for premium for the San Felipe 250. I forgot that unless you have a heavy truck or a bus, you probably aren't buying much diesel in Mexico.

Using the numbers provided:
Pemex premium @ 8.50 pesos p/liter
1 gallon = 3.78 liters
Exchange rate @ 10.25 pesos p/ dollar

8.50 x 3.78=32.13 pesos per gallon
32.13 divided by exchange rate of 10.25:1= $3.13
