Anybody else going?

I'll definitely be out there spectating. Going to try to get a roof rack/light bar fabed up in time too - being a night race and all.

I will be there. Will there be any class 3 racing?

LOL. Dezert blues - that's pretty funny.

Well it was a nice race and a lot of fun.
V4DR hooked it up for us volunteers and gave out some shirts, the new DP check 6 dvd, gift cards, stickers, etc.

Unfortunately no class 3's though....

Also had my first run in with silt and wow - talk about powder. I'm surprised i'm not still out there digging.

I am glad you had fun. How long were you stuck in the silt?

Probably about 45 min to an hour. I really felt like I had just got caught with my pants down as ocotillo wells was completely deserted and I figured any body actually at plaster city would be getting set up for the race meaning no chance of any assistance.
It only took two tries (backed out as far as I could and then pushed forward and took another line out) but we were taking our time trying not to overwork ourselves in that heat.
The biggest bummer was after all that we didn't really feel like driving down to gypson mine rd and just decided to camp at the closest decent spot near the course. Plus I had aired down to about 8psi and I didn't really feel comfortable cruising around like that.

My husband said it was really hot.
We always get stuck when we don't bring a shovel.
Once we came came across some blm rookie who had been stuck for over 45 minutes. My friend Britt Clamp pulled him out with his truck.

Nice pics.
Yeah it was hot but not quite as bad as I thought it would be. It sure felt good that night though. I ended up just tossing my sleeping bag down on top of tarp next to the expo and called it good.

I really wish I could have made it down to gypsum mine rd:(
