How do I get a race #? Do I need to actually enter a race? Or will they issue one if I join SCORE. I might help in getting a sponsor or two up here in Erie, PA

with SCORE, the number depends on the score drawing, once you enter a race you will receive your number, the first car receives the 301, the 300 i believe it's for the points champ, the 348 its for the first driver asking to start 1st in the rear, after de drawing the numbers increases on how late you suscribe to the race, you don't ask for the number, they give you the number..
.. well, that's what i think, i maight be wrong...

you wont get a number issued to you that is permanent. you will get a new number almost everytime you enter, unless you raced previously with score and give them that number - and no one else already got it. 300 is reserved for the previous year points champ..

we got the same number 2x for our 11 car in SCORE ... but of course we do BITD and SNORE stuff to so there's always number swapping going on. IMO it's kind of a pain. i wish what you got at the begining of the season was what you stick with.

Good idea. Let's shoot an e-mail and/or phone call to SCORE/Sal Fish and request it. I you raced the previous year, you get the number that you placed starting with 300 to the winner.....Actually, it would be cool to not use 300 and start with 301. The last 2 digits would always show how you placed the previous year and you keep it for the season. Whatta ya guys think? Should we all start making individual requests for that? .....or maybe we should get a petition with as many Class 3'rs as possible to sign it. Let's hear some input.

Get a pettition going and hit em with one big voice all at once.
Then if he doesn't acknowledge it let the individual calls come in and bug that crap out of em.

I'll wait until we get a handfull of responses here first. Don, being the most common owner of the number 300, whatta you think? Let's hear from some of the current racers in the class.....Don, Chupa, Chris, Chuck, Scott, Dylan......And some more of the future class 3 racers. I haven't actually raced my first race yet, but boy, I can't wait. I think about this every day....many times over! I'll be ready to race next year for sure and MAYBE with a few small miracles, I will make the B1K this year. Dream' of runnin' the 300 or 301 one day! :)

Well, your messing with a tradition there............. By that I mean SCORE has done that for quite a while, mainly for their own convenience. It's a lot easier to line up cars at the start 301, 302, etc. Of course you have 300 that gets thrown in there depending on how the draw went, and then you have the entries that withdrew or did not start. As a spectator out on the course, as the vehicles are coming through, you see 307 come through right on the tail of 301, and you know he's leading the class on time, because you know where they started without looking at a program.
On the other hand, in my opinion, that is one of the biggest hassles in the world to change the darn number on the race truck and your chase vehicles just before each race. Trophy Trucks have their own numbers (and without researching it, Pro Trucks and Jeepspeeds may keep their number, too?), so it's not unheard of. I would support it, but in the grand scheme of things, I've got a lot bigger fish to fry.
Now if you really want to stir things up, suggest they go to the old Mint 400 format, where ALL the entries drew for numbers! A class 11 could start first, and an unlimited entry could start last. With 400+ entries, imagine the chaos. As just a pup, the Mint 400 in the 80's and the off road racing at Riverside were events that I will never forget.

Some good points. I thought of a few of those myself after posting. Sounds like you would be a supporter. I also have some major fish to fry (or at least cook!) so I won't spend a ton of effort on it, but if we have enough positive suppor here, I figure it's worth a few e-mails and phone calls. Thanks for the input.
