I picked up a Maxxima amber, but I'm not sure where to mount it. I don't have a tire carrier, roof rack or cage yet (it's comin', it's comin'!), so??? I'm debating mounting it in the upper part of the tailgate. Is that too low?

What might be cool is if you used an EB license plate frame mounted to the inside of the upper right hand corner of the hard top, that way you could flip the light down when you wanted to use it and flip it up and out of the way when not in use.

That's sounds cool. Do you have a link for those?

This is what I was thinking, but a lot more expensive than I thought.

Just mount it at the top left (Faceing the Back shell window) & if your window is tinted cut out the tint around the light.

Thats what I plan anyways...
I wonder though being at the Mint400 they had us add a blue light out back to show others we're a slower class, you migt wanna think about that as well? http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/6.gif

Yeah, I was thinking of a blue light as well. They didn't make you add the blue light for prerunning though, did they?

No of course not.
Your allowed to prerun in a completey stock pick up.
Its basically a run what cha brung during pre-runs, you dont need an amber even to Pre-Run.

But its not a bad idea for dusty days..
I originally mounted mine on the rear bumper.

But that seems to low & in the thick of the dust comming off my tires.
Seems up at the highest corner of the back window would make the most sense to me.

Per SCORE rules, mounting height has to be 48"? x 3" diam min, not sure, but its under CR18.
Youre welcome.

Ha! I suppose it wouldn't hurt to read the rule book once in a while. :o

Here's mine mounted in the cage in the upper corners. Quit screwing around and build the cage before you hurt yourself. The happy by product is you will have somewhere to put the safety light.

I think I just got hurt. Ha! It's coming! I'm mounting the new beams, fabbing the swinger steering, installing 5/8" studs in the front, eliminating the abs and replacing brakelines. Then it's on to the cage, so I can cleanly integrate front hoops into the design.

Good job, I was not really trying to bust your balls.
Believe me. I know what an undertaking it is to do everything we all want to do to our Broncos.
